NTPC Limited (NTPC)

• Educational Qualification (Essential): Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent – full time degree) from a recognized Indian university/institute with minimum 60% marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 55% for SC/PwBD candidates.
• CLAT Requirement: Candidates must have appeared for CLAT-2026 (Common Law Admission Test-2026) Post Graduate programme conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities. CLAT score of any other year or any other examination will not be considered valid.
• Shortlisting Basis: Candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process, as decided by NTPC, based on CLAT-2026 Post Graduate programme performance scores, from among those who apply against this advertisement.
• Age Limit: Upper age limit is 30 years as on the last date of online application in NTPC. Relaxations in upper age limit are applicable for SC, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwBD, Ex-servicemen and other eligible categories as per Government of India norms.
• Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

• Upper age limit: 30 years as on the last date of online application in NTPC.
• Age relaxation of 5 years for SC candidates and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.
• Age relaxation of 10 years for PwBD candidates; relaxation for Ex-servicemen (XSM) is as per Government of India norms.
• OBC candidates belonging to “Creamy Layer” are not entitled to concessions admissible to OBC category and must indicate their category as General.

Minimum Age:
Maximum Age: Upper age limit 30 years as on last date of NTPC online application (relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per Government guidelines).

• Application fee can be paid either in offline mode through State Bank of India (special account No. 30987919993 at CAG Branch, New Delhi) using system-generated pay-in-slip, or in online mode via Net banking, Debit Card or Credit Card.
• Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances; candidates are advised to verify eligibility before paying the application fee.

• Candidates must have valid CLAT-2026 Post Graduate programme scores; CLAT-2026 performance will be used to shortlist candidates for further selection process as decided by NTPC.
• NTPC reserves the right to conduct multi-stage selection processes which may comprise application shortlisting/screening (based on qualification, percentage of marks, etc.), written/computer-based test, personal interview or combination of these, and to raise minimum eligibility standards as required.
• The mere submission of application and fulfillment of prescribed criteria do not confer any right to be called for further selection; candidature can be cancelled at any stage if eligibility norms are not met or incorrect information is found.

• Candidates need to apply in online mode in NTPC for the post of Assistant Law Officer on the website careers.ntpc.co.in or through the careers section at www.ntpc.co.in, using their CLAT-2026 admit card number.
• No other mode of application shall be accepted. After successful application, the system generates a unique application number; candidates must download and keep a printout of the application slip for future reference.
• General/EWS/OBC category candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- through prescribed online or offline payment methods, while SC/ST/PwBD/XSM and female candidates are exempted from fee payment.
• Candidates must upload all required documents such as proof of name and date of birth, graduation degree and marksheets, CLAT-2026 scorecard, valid category certificates, disability certificate (where applicable) and other specified documents, ensuring correctness of CLAT-2026 admit card number and name as per CLAT records.

• Pay Scale (IDA Pattern) for Assistant Law Officer: E0 Level – Rs. 30000-120000/-.
• Posting shall be at any of the Units/Projects/Joint Ventures/Subsidiaries of NTPC Limited and all postings are transferable at the sole discretion of the management.
