MPPSC State Service Exam 2026 Exam Pattern
- The first stage of the Madhya Pradesh PCS exam will be the preliminary exam.
- This exam will have two question papers.
- The first question paper will be of a general studies where the questions will be from all the fields like politics, economics, geography, history and contemporary events.
- The second question paper will be of the optional subject which the candidates can choose from the subjects given in the official notification.
- The next part of the exam is the main exam.
- The main exam will have eight question papers.
- There will be 2 question papers of general studies.
- There will be four question papers on any two optional subjects chosen by the candidates.
MPPSC State Service Exam 2026 Pre Exam Pattern
- The exam will be objective type.
- The duration given for each paper will be 2 hours

MPPSC State Service Exam 2026 Mains Exam Pattern
1. The examination will be conducted in one session for a duration of 03 hours.
2. Section (A) Subject – General Knowledge of Madhya Pradesh, National and International level and Basic Knowledge of Computer. Section-‘A’ will have 50 objective type questions and Section-‘B’ will have 100 objective type questions in the subject related question paper. Thus, the question paper will include 150 objective type questions in sections ‘A’ and ‘B’. Each question will be of 03 marks, thus the total marks of the question paper will be 450 marks.
3. The question paper will be of objective (multiple choice) type. There will be four options (A, B, C, D) for the answer of each question. The candidate will have to choose the correct option from the above options.
4. The question paper will have two parts – It will be mandatory to get 40 percent marks separately in Part-(A) General Knowledge question paper and 40 percent marks related to Part-(B) subject. In this way, the merit will be made by adding the marks of both sections. Negative marking in the exam will be done on (3R-W) = marks obtained method.

That is, 3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
5. The question paper will be in both Hindi and English languages.
6. Interview:-
The interview will be of 50 marks. No minimum passing marks are prescribed for the interview.
