Post Name: Junior Research Fellow (JRF). Project Title: Automation scope in fabricating biodegradable super-hydrophobic composite using banana pseudostem fiber and beeswax for sustainable packaging applications. Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET/GATE) or other National level examinations conducted by DST, DRDO, IISC, IIT, IISER etc. as per Office Memorandum for Revision of Research Emoluments from Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology dated 26 June 2023. Desirable Experience: Specialization in Mechanical Engineering. Principal Investigator: Dr. Simanchal Kar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Silchar, Silchar-788010, India.
Rs. 37,000/- per month for the first two years as Junior Research Fellow (JRF). Rs. 42,000/- per month thereafter as Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
Maximum age limit: 35 years. Relaxation in qualification and age for SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN/PWD/EWS candidates as per Government of India rules.

The interview date and mode (online/offline) will be notified in due course of time through email to the shortlisted candidates. The Institute has the discretion to restrict the number of candidates to be called for the interview on the basis of screening. No candidate may be recruited if suitable candidates are not found. Selected candidates will be required to sign an agreement upon joining.
Applications are invited from Indian citizens for the temporary post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the DST sponsored R&D project at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Silchar. SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN/PWD/EWS candidates will get relaxation in qualification and age as per Government of India rules. The project is primarily based on field work, hence candidates must judge their comfortability before applying for the position. Employed candidates must submit a no-objection certificate from their employer at the time of the interview. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for interview based on screening, and may decide not to recruit if suitable candidates are not found.
