This is an “Ekaki” (single) post in Group ‘C’, and as per circular MBC/1259 dated 13.04.2004 (Amendment 8, clause 3(1)(gha)), reservation does not apply to this isolated post.
The candidate must be a B.Sc. (Science) graduate in a subject as specified (ravidnyan shakhichi B.Sc.) from a recognized institution. He/She must be working as Laboratory Attendant (Prayogshala Parichar) in the establishments of: – Major Municipal Hospitals, – New & Medical Colleges, – Public Health Departments, – Pr. V.A. (Kha.Pra.Ma.A.Se.) and Pr. V.A. (Rav.Ru.) as specified in the notification. For B.Sc. degree holders – at least 1 year of service as Laboratory Attendant is required. Otherwise (if not B.Sc. Science branch as above) – 2 years of service as Laboratory Attendant is required, as per approved rules. Candidates must pass the departmental Vyavsay Chachani (Trade Test) conducted for the post of Prayogshala Sahayak. Computer qualification: Candidate must possess DOEACC Society’s CCC / O Level / A Level / B Level / C Level certificate OR Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education MS-CIT OR GE.C.T. certificate OR any other government-approved course in computer handling/usage of at least 2 years as per Government orders. Language: Candidate must have passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent with Marathi (50 marks question paper) as higher/lower level, and must be able to read, write and speak Marathi. Service in the cadre of Laboratory Attendant (Prayogshala Parichar) in the concerned BMC establishments as per the approved note: – 1 year post for B.Sc. Science branch degree holders, OR – 2 years for others as Laboratory Attendant. Experience must be duly verified from the service record and certified by the concerned department head and service record officer.
The notification includes a Divyang post suitability table mentioning physical requirements such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, finger manipulation, reading/writing, seeing, hearing and communication, and Divyang categories like Deaf/Hard of Hearing, One Arm/One Leg/Both Legs, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness and Multiple Disabilities. It clarifies that Divyang candidates who can perform the duties of Laboratory Assistant (test sample handling, record-keeping, coordinating laboratory work and assisting laboratory technologists) as per the specified physical criteria may apply. The post of Prayogshala Sahayak is in revised pay scale M-13, Rs. 21,700 – 69,000/- as sanctioned by BMC orders. Other allowances and benefits will be admissible as per Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation service rules and applicable government norms for Group ‘C’ posts.
This recruitment is strictly departmental and limited to in-service BMC staff working as Laboratory Attendant in specified health establishments. Backward category employees who have already availed reservation earlier or are shown as “adhik sankhya” (excess) or whose category change is under process must submit valid Caste and Caste Validity Certificates along with Non-Creamy Layer certificates as applicable; otherwise, their applications will not be considered. All eligible candidates (including backward category) will be considered in general merit list for this isolated post; reservation is not applicable, but category must be correctly mentioned for record purposes. Candidates appointed in Group ‘D’ and later promoted to Group ‘C’ posts must pass compulsory computer examination within 2 years from appointment; otherwise, they may be reverted to original post as per circular MPM/2/3221 dated 14.11.2014. Candidates under departmental inquiry, preliminary inquiry, or suspension will not be considered for appointment until such proceedings are cleared. Selected candidates for Prayogshala Sahayak must submit an application within 2 years from selection date for reversion to original post in case they do not wish to continue; otherwise, their rights to original post will lapse. Applications received under this recruitment process will be considered only for this selection; future vacancies will require fresh recruitment/notification. Waiting list (Pratiksha Yadi), if prepared, will remain valid for 2 years; after that, it will lapse automatically. The administration reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage without assigning any reason.
