Minimum essential qualification for all teaching positions is as per existing UGC Regulations 2018 and additional regulations issued in continuation, wherever applicable. Candidates must possess required department-wise qualifications, specialisations and eligibility conditions as specified in the detailed vacancy table of the advertisement. For many posts, specific postgraduate degrees (such as M.Sc., M.A., M.Tech.) and Ph.D., along with relevant specialisation areas, are mandatory as per the notification. Additional desirable criteria like teaching experience, research experience, administrative experience or sponsored projects are specified for some departments/posts. Candidates must meet all eligibility conditions as on the last date of receipt of online applications.
Maximum age limit, if any, along with other qualifications will be taken into account as on the closing date mentioned for receipt of applications. Candidates must satisfy all age-related eligibility norms laid down by the University and applicable regulations on the closing date of online application.
Application fee for the post is Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred only) for general candidates. Application fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs. 750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred Fifty only). Payment mode is online only; no other mode of payment will be accepted. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Form Apply Process
Eligible and interested candidates must apply online only through Gauhati University website www.gauhati.ac.in at the Teaching Recruitment Candidate Portal: https://gauhatirec.samarth.edu.in.
Candidates should register on the portal using a valid email ID and mobile number and then carefully fill in all required details in the online application form.
After submission of the online application, candidates must take a printout (hard copy) of the duly filled application and sign it.
The signed hard copy, along with all necessary enclosures and proof of payment of application fee and No Objection Certificate (where applicable), must be sent to “The Registrar, Gauhati University, Guwahati – 781014, Assam”.
Hard copy for each post must be placed in a separate cover with the name of the post and department, and superscribed with “Application for the post of ______, Gauhati University, Advt. No. T/2025/3”.
Applications received after the last date, incomplete applications or applications without required fee/enclosures will be summarily rejected.
