• Professor-E: 1st Class Master’s in Physics/Geophysics/Maths/Geology/Electronics/CS/Atmospheric Science/Statistics/Space Physics + PhD in relevant discipline + 10+ years research experience. Desirable: Strong publications, dynamical modeling, 10 SCI papers (4 as lead author).
• Reader: 1st Class Master’s in Physics/Geophysics/Maths/Geology/Electronics/CS + 6 yrs research OR PhD + 2 yrs post-doc. Desirable: Publications, high-impact geomagnetism research, 2 SCI papers (1 as first author).
• Fellow (Computer Science): 1st Class Master’s in Computer Science. Preferably PhD OR 2–3 yrs research experience. Desirable: Cybersecurity, penetration testing, tools knowledge, forensics, ISO/NIST, HPC experience.
• Fellow (Physics/Geo/Allied): 1st Class Master’s in Physics/Geophysics/Maths/Geology/Electronics/CS. Preferably PhD OR 2–3 yrs research in geomagnetism/allied fields. Desirable: PhD in relevant physical sciences.
• Assistant Director (OL): Master’s degree in Hindi/English (as per combinations) + 3 yrs translation/terminology/teaching experience. Desirable: Studied an 8th Schedule language at Class 10.
• Assistant: Graduate + 3 yrs UDC/equivalent experience. Desirable: Law degree, Govt rules, computer proficiency.
• Stenographer Grade-I: Holding analogous post OR 10 yrs service in Level 4. Desirable: Hindi/English, MS Office, Govt rules.
• Technical Assistant (Civil): Diploma in Civil Engineering. Desirable: Govt infrastructure experience, CPWD, CAD, tendering, billing.
• Stenographer Grade-II: 12th pass + Dictation 80 wpm; transcription 50 min (English). Desirable: Computer skills, liaison, communication.
• Upper Division Clerk: Bachelor’s degree.
• Lower Division Clerk: Matriculation + Typing 30 wpm (Eng/Hindi) on computer. Desirable: 2 yrs office experience.

• Post-wise age limits as on last date: Professor-E: 45 years; Reader: 40 years; Fellow: 35/38 years; Assistant Director (OL): 35/56 years; Assistant: 30 years; Stenographer Grade-I: 56 years; Technical Assistant (Civil): 28 years; Stenographer Grade-II: 27 years; UDC: 27 years; LDC: 27 years.
• Age relaxation: As per Government of India rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen etc.

The IIG Online Registration will be made through the official institute website. The application process involves online submission followed by hard copy dispatch. Steps as follow:-

➢ Step 1: Visit the IIG careers page at https://iigm.res.in/careers/positionvacancies and click on the online application link.

➢ Step 2: Register and fill the online application form with personal, educational, and experience details.

➢ Step 3: Upload required documents, photograph, and signature.

➢ Step 4: Pay the application fee online (if applicable) through the payment gateway.

➢ Step 5: Submit the online form on or before 10th December 2025 (5:00 PM IST).

➢ Step 6: Take a printout of the submitted application form.

➢ Step 7: Send the hard copy of the application along with self-attested copies of all relevant documents by Speed Post to ‘Registrar’, Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Plot No. 5, Sector 18, Kalamboli Highway, New Panvel, Navi Mumbai 410 218, superscripted “Application for the post of…………….”, to reach on or before 15th December 2025 by 17:00 hrs.
