Essential Qualification: B.Tech in computer science (CSE) or electronics and communication engineering (ECE) with a minimum of 55% marks. Desirable Qualification or Experience: Candidates should be language- and framework-agnostic engineers who get things done - the focus is on working fluently across multiple languages (Go, Dart, TypeScript, Python, C/C++, Rust) and picking up tools as needed. Expertise in Go for scalable backend systems is essential - clean architecture, testing, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes. Strong Flutter skills with an eye for crafting beautiful, polished UIs and smooth user experiences are expected. Hands-on GCP experience including Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, IAM, and Cloud Monitoring is expected. Strong PostgreSQL and PostGIS skills covering query optimization, indexing, and partitioning are required. Experience with Redis, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers is desirable. Proficiency in LLM integration, AI agent orchestration, RAG architectures, and vector databases is highly valued. Embedded systems development is a plus. Candidates must be capable of package-level engineering — authoring libraries, SDKs, and CLI tools. Proficiency with Uber's H3 spatial indexing and geospatial pipelines is expected. Familiarity with Terraform or similar IaC tools is a bonus. Prior experience with urban transportation or mobility-specific projects is a strong advantage.

Candidates found suitable will be called for an interview at IIT (BHU) Varanasi. The final selection will be based on interview performance.
Late applications shall not be considered in any case. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed to appear in the interview, and any communication regarding shortlisting and/or selection will not be entertained. Interview shall be held at IIT (BHU) Varanasi in online mode, and no TA/DA will be paid to the candidates, if called for interview in physical mode. The selected candidate will be expected to join immediately. The appointment is terminable with one month's notice on either side and does not confer any right for extension and/or re-appointment of the candidate. Duration: 8 months (may be further considered for another 12 months based on satisfactory performance and future tranches of the project grant amount in upcoming financial years).
