Candidates must meet specific essential qualifications and experience requirements for each post code.
Qualifications: The essential educational qualifications generally include ITI, Diploma, B.Sc., B.Tech, or MCA in a relevant engineering or science discipline from a recognized University/Institute. Essential experience: A minimum of 1 to 5 years of working experience in the relevant discipline is required, depending on the level of educational qualification held. Desirable: Desirable qualifications vary by post and may include specific software proficiency (CAD & FEA), experience with lab instruments, or working experience in a residential academic institute setting.
The maximum age limit for these posts is 30 years. The eligibility date for age calculation is the last date of application submission, which is 06January 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates (5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC NCL), PwD, and ex-servicemen as per Government of India rules. Regular employees of IITs who are educationally qualified may be considered up to a maximum age of 50 years.
Candidates need to submit the following fee (application + processing fee) for each post applied:
Un-reserved/EWS: Rs. 500/- OBC: Rs. 400/- SC/ST/Women/PwD/ESM: Rs. 300/- Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
The Institute reserves the right to screen and shortlist applications based on criteria higher than the minimum eligibility. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the selection process. The selection process may involve a written test and/or a trade test/presentation/interview. The decision of the competent authority in all matters relating to selection is final and binding.
All posts are tenable at IIT Mandi in Kamand, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. All positions are initially on probation as per Institute norms. Candidates are advised to ensure they meet all minimum essential qualifications and experience before applying. All specified educational qualifications must be from a recognized University/Institute. Knowledge of computer office applications and fluency in English is required. Candidates seeking reservation benefits must possess valid certificates in the prescribed format at the time of application. Applicants in government service must route their applications through the proper channel or furnish a 'No Objection Certificate' at the time of application.
