Candidates must also possess a one-year Certificate Course in Audiometry from a recognized Government Medical Institution or an institution recognized by State / Central Government, or a Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS), or a Bachelor of Science in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) from a University recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India. Applicants must possess the required qualification on the date of notification, i.e., 03.12.2025. For all categories (SC / ST / SCA / BC / BCM / MBC & DNC): Minimum 18 years; no maximum age limit, subject to applicants not having completed 60 years at the time of selection / appointment. For OC candidates: Minimum 18 years and maximum 32 years. For Differently Abled persons (OC): Minimum 18 years and maximum 42 years; for SC / ST / SCA / BC / BCM / MBC & DNC there is no maximum age limit with overall 60 years cap. For Ex-servicemen (OC): Minimum 18 years and maximum 48 years; for SC / ST / BC / MBC / DNC / BCM maximum 53 years. For Destitute Widows (OC): Minimum 18 years and maximum 59 years; for reserved categories no maximum age limit with overall 60 years cap. SC / SCA / ST / Destitute Widow / DAP: Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only). Others: Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six Hundred only). Fee must be paid only through online mode using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or Mobile Wallet as per instructions in Annexure-1; once paid, the fee will not be refunded or adjusted for any reason. The selected candidates will be placed in Level – 8 of the pay matrix with a scale of pay of Rs. 19,500 – 71,900 as per 7th Pay Commission. Other conditions related to joining time, probation, training and pay modifications are as per Annexure-6 of the notification. Selection will be made based on marks scored by candidates in their academic and technical qualifications for the post of Audiometrician, following rules of reservation and communal rotation of Government of Tamil Nadu. Weightage of marks: 50% for Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Audiometry / DHLS / BASLP, 30% for HSC / PUC, and 20% for SSLC / 10th. There will be no oral test (interview) for this post. Where technical qualification does not award marks, selection will be based on SSLC or HSC marks alone as per relevant Government Orders.
