• Essential qualification, Desirable qualifications, age and experience for the post of Superintendent are as per Recruitment Rules (2019) for Non-teaching staff in NITs notified vide No.F.35-5/2018-TS.III of MHRD’s letters dated 20.02.2019 and 04.04.2019.
• Any requisite experience gained after the minimum qualifying degree will only be taken into consideration.

• Maximum age limit shall be as per Recruitment Rules.
• Age limit and other eligibility conditions for all the positions shall be determined on the last date of submission of online application, i.e., 30.01.2026.
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen applicants shall be applicable as per Government of India norms.
• SC/ST: 5 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• OBC (NCL): 3 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• PwD (UR): 10 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• PwD + OBC (NCL): 13 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• PwD + SC/ST: 15 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation up to the extent of service rendered in Defence forces (Army, Navy & Airforce) plus 3 years, subject to production of required certificate.
• Departmental candidates with three years continuous service in Central Government: 5 years age relaxation (additional to other applicable cases) for eligible Central Government / Autonomous / PSU / Centrally Funded Research Institute employees.
• Regular staff of NIT Tiruchirappalli appointed before 2012 are allowed to participate in the selection process irrespective of age and percentage of marks, as per No.F.35-5/2018-TS.III dated 20th February 2019 – point 4.b.(iii).

• UR, EWS, OBC (Non-creamy layer) & Ex-servicemen: Rs. 1,000/- (non-refundable); however, Rs. 500/- shall be refunded to Ex-servicemen candidates subject to appearing for the Screening Test.
• SC/ST/Women applicants: Rs. 500/- towards online application.
• PwBD candidates: Exempted from Application & Processing Fee.
• The application fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances (except the specified refund condition for Ex-servicemen).

• Screening of online applications may be done to restrict the number of applicants to be called for the selection process.
• The Institute may conduct a selection process comprising multiple stages of selection.
• Selection process may consist of Screening Test (only for the purpose of shortlisting of applicants), Skill Test (qualifying in nature) and Main Written Test.
• List of shortlisted applicants to be called for the selection process will be published on the Institute website and may also be intimated on registered email ID; no hard copy communication will be issued.
• Screening of applications will be done on the basis of requirements mentioned in the Recruitment Rules and as per conditions laid down by the duly constituted Screening Committee.
• Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.
• Request for change in examination centres will not be entertained at any stage of the recruitment process.

• Applicants are required to apply online through SAMARTH portal (https://nittnt.samarth.edu.in/index.php/site/login) of the Institute website www.nitt.edu from 02.01.2026 to 30.01.2026.
• Applicants should click on the online application link, read the instructions carefully and fill in the online application form with accurate information.
• If the online application is not successfully completed, the applicant is required to register again.
• After successful submission of online application, applicants must keep a copy of the finally submitted online application for production during the selection process.
• Incomplete applications or applications received through any mode other than online will not be accepted and will be summarily rejected.
• No request for change in any data entered will be entertained once the online application is submitted successfully.
• Applicants need to upload scanned copy of recent passport size colour photograph and signature while applying online.
• Applicants called for selection process must produce original certificates, a copy of the same photo and other relevant documents as mentioned in the online application form.
• The Institute will not be responsible if an applicant is unable to submit the online application within the last date due to system error or other reasons.
• Application without payment of application fee will be incomplete and summarily rejected.
• Applicants must upload the following documents: SSLC Certificate; HSC Certificate; ITI / Diploma / UG / PG Degree Certificate (whichever is applicable); Certificate for typewriting / Shorthand / Computer skill from specified Government institutes for certain posts as per RR; Community Certificate (if applicable); recent passport size colour photograph; scanned copy of signature.

• The post of Superintendent carries Pay Level 6 [PB-2 & GP 4200/-] as per Seventh CPC [equivalent PB & GP in Sixth CPC].
